  • Yes! >>> Here (Google Drive, pdf file)

Where's that zine?

Tell me about the course!

  • We will be running the course in the reverse direction (the opposite direction to how we ran it in November 2021) to spice things up a little!

  • Also note that the start line has moved.

  • Course report Thursday 27th January : here on Facebook.

Can I take photos?

  • YES! If you post any shots on social media please tag us! #ShamXross

  • We will have a number of professional photographers with us.

  • Drones: only with specific permission, in advance, from BC (usually forbidden). #BCracerules

  • Cameras on riders/bikes on track during race: strictly forbidden under BC rules.

Is there a press release about this race?

What about the previous ShamXross race, where can I found those photos and videos?

  • Yep, tons of stuff, just here, including videos of a hot-lap (note, we'll be running the course backwards on the 30th January!)

I've still got my race number, do you need it back?

  • YES please!! These should be handed back at the end of every race.

  • Please return race numbers to any WCCL race organiser, or contact Kev Brewski on IG or FB, or email us here shamxross@gmail.com

I lost some stuff at the last race, can I collect it at this race?

  • Please contact Kev Brewski on IG or FB, or email us here shamxross@gmail.com

  • We generally bring the lost and found box with us, ask at sign-on.

  • Check also at Somerdale Pavilion

Food

On site,

  • Somerdale Pavilion: bar open for hot and cold drinks, and bar snacks. They have a lovely patio with views across the playing fields, and the best sunset in Keynsham. They've just had brand new carpet put down in the bar - please take off muddy shoes / wear the smurf-over-shoes!

Other local food options (we suggest you book / phone ahead),

When is the last race of the season?

Addendum 12th January 2022: due to re-scheduling of the Oldbury Court event (originally 16th January, now 6th February), this ShamXross race on 30th January is no longer the final race of the season. By the magical powers of CX counting, it is still Round 13 though!

Where will the race results be?

  • K2 are super speedy, expect they will be available in less than a day after the race.

  • There will be a QR code at sign-on, take a photo!

  • We'll also share the link on social media and there will be a 2nd blog post with all the post race info (results, photos, lost and found etc)

>>> How do I enter?

  • 20 December 2021: Online entry is open now! Here on the British Cycling website, including race times etc.

  • Online entry closes Thursday 27th January 2022 at 23:55.

  • To try to keep everyone as covid-safe as possible, please, please enter online in advance. This helps our small team enormously, thank you.

  • When you enter online, we take an initial £1 admin fee. Then we wait. And we wait until the last moment until we know the race is definitely going ahead, and when it is confirmed, then we take the full fee. All WCCL events do the same thing.

  • Why not wait until the last minute to enter then? As volunteer organisers, it helps us enormously if you please "enter in advance as normal" - there is so much work to do when organising a race, that we really need to know how many people will enter weeks ahead of the race.

When does online entry close?

  • Online entry closes Thursday 27th January 2022 at 23:55.

Can I register on the day?

  • Please register online in advance, here (closes Thursday 27th January 2022 at 23:55.)

  • On the day entries will be subject to an additional £5 fee, and are strongly discouraged. CONTACTLESS PAYMENT ONLY, at the sign-on marquee.

What happens if the race is cancelled?

  • The ShamXross team are very keen to bring you the race on the 30th January. We will be running the course in the reverse direction to spice things up a little!

  • We are keeping a very close eye on the current pandemic situation and will be constantly reviewing the situation and keeping you informed. We do not want to take any risks with your health, or that of our volunteers.
